NEW COLLEGE

SOCIAL & BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES DIVISION

Welcome to the Division of Social & Behavioral Sciences (SBS)! Members of our division are committed to excellence in teaching and research and SBS is proud of the accomplishments of our faculty, students, and graduates. We are a research-oriented department where our priority is the discovery of new knowledge and understandings about human behavior, social issues and cultural processes, the application of that knowledge to the betterment of physical, mental, and social health, and the transmission of that knowledge to our students and the community. Students have the opportunity to participate in faculty-student collaborative research projects, explore cross-cultural and global perspectives in their courses, access the latest computer technology for projects and assignments, and apply what they have learned in a variety of community-based internship sites across the Phoenix metropolitan area.

On our pages, you will find information about our undergraduate B.A. and B.S. degrees in Communication Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, and Social and Behavioral Sciences, as well as links to our College’s Masters degree programs. In addition you will find information on our minors in communication studies, sociocultural anthropology, interdisciplinary organizational studies and public relations and strategic communications. You’ll also find information on SBS faculty, their areas of research and scholarship activities. As you further explore our pages, you will find that SBS combines academic excellence with innovative programs and services, complementing the ASU commitment to fostering student success. Please look through our website. If you don’t find what you need please contact us for further information.

These pages offer you just a glimpse of all that SBS and ASU have to offer you. After your online visit, we invite you to tour our campus and department, to get to know us first hand. You will always receive a warm welcome from the ASU communities.
